These are some of the environmental challenges that the rulers of our cities should be overcome in the coming years:
1. Access to basic public infrastructure (mass transit, schools and waste collection).
2. Implement urban renewal actions (energy rehabilitation of neighborhoods)
3. Effective reduction of CO2 emissions.
4. Agreements with utilities to promote energy efficiency investments (replacement of the entire street lighting energy efficient lighting technology.)
5. Cash boost for renewable energy (the electricity consumed in the city comes from these sources.)
6. Build a strong policy to promote travel by public transport, walking and cycling.
7. Develop a pedestrian soft, at least 70% of the city center.
8. Introduce social clauses and environmental criteria into all contract documents for works, services and shopping.
9. Increase efficiency in water use, achieving a 20% increase in water reuse (reducing domestic water consumption).
10. Implement an effective strategy to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (the 3 Rs).
